Foundations is appointed by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) as the national body for home improvement agencies.
Home improvement agencies help vulnerable people to maintain their independence and live comfortably and safely in their own homes. Every year, home improvement agencies deal with around 225,000 enquiries from across the country, and deliver work with a total value of over £110 million. Foundations provides support to the home improvement agency sector through:
developing and expanding home improvement agency services
providing advice, training and support to home improvement agency staff, and
representing the sector in discussions with government and other stakeholders.
We organise a range of conferences and events for people working in and around the home improvement agency sector.
Our Quality Mark scheme is a set of assessment frameworks which enable home improvement agencies and their commissioners to measure the quality of their services. The scheme also provides high-quality development advice.
Foundations is managed by CEL Public Services.
