Economics, Housing for Later Life and Support Services - Call for evidence

11 August, 2011

The Department for Communities and Local Government is sponsoring economic research by the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) to examine the business case for supporting Older People to live in the accommodation which is right for them.

In particular, the EAC are looking at where older people are under-occupying their accommodation and the economic case for offering support and advice to help them consider their options.  This can include repairs and adaptations, moving to more manageable accommodation or considering ideas such as Home Share.

The EAC aim to clarify who benefits, the best and most innovative models and the opportunities for replicating successful models of advice and support.

If you are offering these services - particularly if you are bringing public and private organisations together to do so - it would be great to hear from you.

Participation in this research offers the chance to quantify the benefits that your service brings to local and national Government and to influence the development of policy in this area.

This work has a tight deadline, please get in touch as soon as possible if you want to be involved.
