In touch Support Ltd are working in partnership with Brighton and Hove City Council to provide practical support and advice to enable older and disabled householders, families with young children and single parent households in all housing sectors in Brighton & Hove to remain in their chosen home in greater safety and to assist with practical measures to reduce the fear, and likelihood of crime.

They are looking for a Caseworker to work based in Davigdor Road, Hove on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2011 (which could possibly be extended depending on funding).The agency are looking for a highly-motivated caseworker to join our team. The role is challenging and varied and includes building positive relationships with clients and other stakeholders, maintaining accurate casework notes, maintaining data on computerised recording systems and dealing with telephone calls.

Your key role will be to visit people in their own homes and carry out a home-safety audit to prevent accidents and/or the risk of crime within the home and to organise practical measures in liaison with our handyperson service to address identified risks.

An understanding of home repairs, improvements and welfare benefits would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team and on your own initiative are vital.

You will need to have access to an appropriate form of transport to carry out their duties.

The role requires a willingness to undertake training and you will need a Criminal Records Bureau check.

Junior Technical Officer, Staines

Salary: £23,771 to £30,563

A recently accredited home improvement agency is looking to recruit a Trainee Technical Officer. You will provide advice, assistance and technical support to clients who wish to adapt their homes, ensuring they are informed of all their options and provided with full information, advice and support throughout the process.

You will undertake preparation of basic technical specifications of work, obtain quotations from suitable qualified contractors and evaluate, liaising with the client, HIA manager and local authority grants officers, where necessary. On approval, you will instruct contractors and monitor all building works on the client's behalf on a daily basis, negotiating with the contractors on site.

You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and will have experience of produsing basic technical drawings and specifications. Experience of tender evaluation, supervising work in progress and working with the elderly/disabled is also essential.

Caseworker - Property Services, Staines

A recently accredited home improvement agency is looking for a caseworker to offer advice, support and help on repairs, improvements or adaptations to people aged over 60, people with disabilities and people on low incomes, who own or privately rent their homes in the borough of Spelthorne.

You will make sure clients are aware of all the options from the outset and provide ongoing information, advice and support throughout the duration of any work, right through to completion.

You will advise clients of alternative ways that the agency could meet their needs, informing them of any possible financial help available, such as grants or loans. You will also need to point people to other areas of support like Social Services, occupational therapists and the council, maintaining strong relationships with these bodies and any other organisation who may be working with the client.

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, you will have a knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits and housing options as they relate to older or vulnerable people. You will also have experience of advice work, related to either housing or welfare benefits as well as experience of working with elderly, disabled or vulnerable people in either an adult or young person's service. Experience of managing a caseload of clients with diverse needs or experience of interviewing and counselling individuals is also essential to the role.

Project and Development Manager, Somerset

Salary: £36,000 to £38,000 per annum plus 10% car allowance

Ridgeway Care & Repair will be running home improvement agency services across Somerset from 1 December 2010. They are looking for an experienced manager who can see the implementation of the project and develop the service for the future.

Key responsibilities
You will take responsibility for the operational running and strategic development of the Somerset contract and lead in creating and implementing the development strategies to support the Somerset contract and Ridgeway Care & Repair.

You will contribute to and support the production of bids for new projects and initiatives for Ridgeway Care & Repair.

Based in Taunton, you will be required to travel within the Somerset area.
