Accessible Homes Team; Kirklees Council

Following the goldilocks approach, Kirklees has involved integration, multi-disciplinary housing with a health and social care structure. The agency has increased scope to a wider referral structure for tenants i.e. energy schemes, third sector. They’ve also created a personalised, holistic service based on needs. An integration of a relocation package (up to £5,000) has been implemented, helping those when moving homes. Kirklees council have a dedicated council website and newsletter articles to reach the public, making it easier to access resources. The team have close relations with ALMO and PFI contractors, with regular liaison meetings to discuss adaptations and rehousing procedures.
