The Government Equalities Office recently ran a consultation on the commencement and implementation of the remaining parts of section 36 of the Equality Act 2010. This legislation will place a duty on landlords to make reasonable adjustments to the common parts of let residential premises when requested by a disabled person.

The Royal College of Occupational Therapists and Foundations ran a joint consultation event in July and based on that feedback Foundations have submitted a formal response. Our main concerns are around the alignment of the guidance on the Equalities Act and how it interacts with the Disabled Facilities Grant legislation and regulations.
